Dogfighting is a ghoulish endeavor but so is Vick bashing. There are much worse things that go unpunished than dogfighting. Vick has already been punished to the tune of hundreds of millions. Let him go to prison for a while and think about what he has done.
Animals have been killing each other for millions of years. Of all the things people can be outraged about, I find it ridiculous that so much attention be given to bringing down Vick.
IN NATURE ANIMALS HAVE BEEN KILLING OTHER ANIMALS FOR MILLIONS OF YEARS much in the same way that dogs are killed in dogfighting. MUCH OF NATURE IS THAT WAY. We have introduced wolves into Yellowstone Park. We ghoulishly watch lions killing zebras on Animal planet on TV. In order for one magnificent lion to live, hundreds of zebras must die.
Even if Michael Vick does not spend one day in prison he will have been punished massively with the hundreds of millions he has lost.
LET HIM GO TO PRISON FOR A YEAR AND THEN LET HIM COME BACK AND GET ON WITH HIS LIFE!
IN 1997 THEY GOT TOGETHER WITH LIKE MINDED MEN like Wolfowitz, Libby, Jeb Bush, William Kristol and others to set up a think tank which they called The Project for the New American Century.
They deplored the fact that the USA had not taken advantage of the fall of the USSR and the fact that the USA was not positioning itself to be the dominant country in the 21st century .
They asserted that the USA and the world would be better off under American leadership. They advocated amassive build-up of our military and agressive foreign policy.
In 1998 they even went to Clinton to sell on their philosophy which he did not buy.
They went on to become the principal advisors to GW Bush when he became President. Since GW Bush had basically no experience in foreign affairs, it would be reasonable to assume that the philosophy of the Project for the New American Century would be expressed in the US foreign policy under GW Bush.
Who can argue with a plan to make the USA the most powerful country in the world in the 21st century?
Some Arabs killed 3000 Americans on 9/11. GW Bush got hundreds of thousands of Arabs killed in Iraq.
If Al Bore had been President on 9/11, we would all be speaking Arabic now.
In 2001 GW Bush replaced that tree hugging Liberal J. Davitt McAteer , who had worked with Ralph Nader on workplace safety and was instrumental in the Mine Safety Act of 1969.
In 2001 Bush appointed David Lauriski, a former mining executive and lobbyist to head Mining Safety & Health Administration (MSHA).He left his job in 2004 when the Labor Department Inspector General discovered his awarding no-bid contracts to companies with which he had personal ties.
He was replaced with Richard Stickler, a coal company manager whose companies’ safety records caused Republicans and Democrats to reject him twice in the Senate. Ever the man with the strength of his convictions, GW Bush appointed him when the Senate was in recess.
