Flying a warplane and being shot down apparently is qualification to be President of the USA according to some

Everyone was flabbergasted when General Wesley Clark who has more military credentials in his little finger than McCain has in his whole body made the observation that simply flying in a war plane and being shot down did not qualify John McCain to be President.

Even Barack Obama was aware of how many Americans think and he backed away from that statement.

Wesley Clark has even stipulated that McCain had some credentials as a war hero which is less than obvious to me based on 23 unheroic combat missions and surviving as a POW.

It would seem to be reasonable to question how, even if indeed McCain were a bona fide war hero how that would make him qualified to be commander in chief.

  1. I can think of only one thing more worthless than an ex-president and that a retired general.

  2. GEORGE WASHINGTON AND DWIGHT EISENHAUER WERE RETIRED GENERALS WHEN THEY BECAME PRESIDENT.
